X,Y because of A, B and C

     Although many people believe that the norths navy was a major advantage in the war, it wasn't as much of an advantage as the telegraph.  The telegraph was a major advantage because it helped the north communicate their plans and strategies. Instead of taking weeks to deliver a note or strategy, the telegraph took seconds. This helped the troops go to new posts in a quicker period of time.

"The united states are vs. the united states is"

Before the civil war it was thought that the united states was independent, and not united as a country. This is correct because every state had their own laws, and way of life. After the war they came together and became the united states is. Their laws became more similar than before. I believe this quote is true. The united states did not act as one big country until the civil war ended, and the north and south didnt become one until the war was over, and abolished slavery.

Westward Expansion

Westward expansionh helped develope Americas character. Americans, for many years and generations, didn't have to think about staying in one place and dealing with the hardships and complications that might have come to that place. They could move and start over in the hopes of finding a better situation. This started with the thinking of the immigrants who came to the "New World" in the first place. Dewitt Clonton created the erie canal that connected the atlantic ocean and the great lakes creating an easier way to trade from the midwest to the east. Big cities and towns were created near the river which helped the economy alot.

Living like a transcendentalist

I am giving up wearing a watch for 24 hours. I use my watch often, I usually look at it atleast 1 time every period, or every 30 minutes or so. I think i will get annoyed because i wont know what the time will be when I want to know it. I am 5 hours into the expirement and I am fine. Although I have no idea what the time is, the day isnt that bad. There is 2 hours left and my thought of time is completly thrown off. This was a terrible mistake all i want to do is look at the time. I will never give up my watch for 24 hours again.

How good was the era off good feelings? There were no major conflicts between political parties, because the Federalist party had broken up. The Democratic- Republicans were in power. One bad thing about the era of good feeling is that slavery was increasing in the south. The era of good feelings ended with the election of 1825, John Quincy Adams didnt win by the electoral college majority vote, but by the house of reps choosing Adams. Supporters of Adams had hard feelings with supporters of Andrew Jackson.

Ipad impacting education

The school issued iPads has impacted my education drastically. Although my grades haven't been worse, paying attention in class is the most difficult it has ever been and I know other students feel the same way. It is so tempting to play games the entire period. Teachers think all the students are taking notes when really some are playing games and not paying attention. I think they are a distraction. The only benefit is less books for the students to carry around all day.
